Aaron, I'm listening and laughing with you. Anthony must have been dropped on his head once, that would explain the idea and the desire for car helmets. If Anthony wants to wear a helmet in his car, knock yourself out. If you want some kind of law, or even force you wife to do it, you're nuts. This argument sounds like the one for terrorism, how much freedom do we give up for security?

It all comes down to how much protection is a sensible amount.
Sure, it will enhance the safety of your family, but how many RTAs would be less bad affected by having a helmet on. I'm not a paramedic, so can't really comment. I do know you'd look like a right numpty though.

this is america! if you want to wear a helmet wear one! please wear one. and drive by me when you are wearing it. ill be the one driving the tank, wearing a suit of armour stuffed with cotton. but dont drive to close. i havent installed my vertical-takeoff-in-case-another-car-gets-within-6-feet-of-me device yet. (im having trouble using it when i drive under bridges. but i dont stay under there too long, they could fall on me, and im afraid the mattress on top of my roof is just making me feel better.)
i will be unreachable this week as i am getting breast implants in case i fall on my chest. im also getting implants on my back.
i watched a rough football game the other day, those guys should really wear helmets. oh wait a minute.
ive implemented anthony's airbag plan in my own vehicles slightly altered however, replacing the harpoon with an atomic bomb so if i go 56 in a 55 i will be blown to smithereens, and hopefully shot in to space where i can be ticketed by a alien police officer and really learn my lesson.
great piece of a show.

At least I don't need this.

I'm guessing "RTA" stands for Royal Tango Aristocrats, yes?
